Kross Media, ¡ahora sí!, Austin American Statesman
Biography
Oscar was born in Monterrey, Mexico in February of 1980. While going to primary and secondary school in San Antonio, Texas, he played with design programs that came on a computer his parents purchased for him, unknowingly setting himself up for a bright future in graphic design and print publication.
He graduated from Technológico de Monterrey (ITESM) in 2000 with a degree in Bilingual Business Administration. After returning to San Antonio, Oscar worked for BTC (Business Cards Tomorrow) as a typesetter and worked his way into lead graphics. While at BCT, Rumbo, a new Spanish newspaper was hiring designers to help launch it’s new paper in San Antonio and Oscar was brought on board, allowing him to jump to the next level of layout design. After a year, the company was struggling and Oscar moved to work with the Austin American Statesman’s spanish weekly paper, ¡ahora si! He has been the artistic director for ¡ahora si! since 2005.
