I grew up in zone 9 of the USDA agriculture zones. I grew hardy and strong due to the warm, tropical summers and mild winters. Soon large quantities of non-native vegetation began destroying my habitat and I was forced to uproot and move around the country trying to find good soil. I've made a lot of stops, but nothing felt just right between my toes. Now I'm a graphic artist at The Kitsap Sun and I'm loving both the paper and the location despite the fact that the paper's name would lead you believe that there is actually some sun here. I won't say that I'm going to put down roots because that would just continue this horrible pun. But I love living here. And the Sun is one of the best small papers in the country because a lot of really good people, past and present, have made it a great paper. If you've worked here, please pat yourself on the back and accept my sincere thanks for making this a great, little paper.
