Biography
Danny is one of those young-pup graduates from the University of Missouri. He's spent time working for The Maneater, The Columbia Missourian, US News & World Report and he now draws pretty pictures for Stateline.org.

Danny has a keen interest in learning geeky new media things and is working on teaching himself PHP, AJAX and Ruby. Despite that business, he would tell you he does miss the print world -- dead trees and all.

Outside of JPEGs, Gifs and SWFs Danny likes to play water polo and video games, is attempting to become a triathlete, plays around with flash in his free time and is still enamored with the fact that he lives in the same city as so many great museums (yay Smithsonians!).

When technology outstrips design

I don't know about the rest of the design community, but I for one have gotten a little bored with the cable news networks' toys.

It's nice to know I'm not the only one who is tired of magical floating pie charts, fancy blue screen bar charts and adding a touch screen to every map. Here's the Daily Show's take on it all:

I'd be curious to hear what other graphics and design journos are saying about it all: is it too much? Is it drawing viewers in? Is this just a case of geek… Continue
