- I am the design director at the News & Record in Greensboro, N.C., and I've been at the paper for a little over 10 years. I was charged with leading the redesign of our paper, which debuted in April 2006, and it's something that I'm very grateful I had the opportunity to do. I'm just now starting to get my feet wet in multimedia production, so I'll be looking for any and all tips I can find here.

It's definitely been a long time since we hung out. I'll get in touch with you once I know when I'll be in town. Hope everything's going well with you. Take it easy.
It's a lesser job and a smaller paycheck. And, naturally, it's not fun for me -- especially since I've been in management so long and I have a relatively high profile, thanks to the speaking engagements and articles and the blog.
But I'm getting by.
Speaking of speaking: I'm appearing at the big N.C. Press Association thing next month. The morning of Feb. 28, to be precise. It's in Cary, not far from RDU airport. A joint venture between the NCPA and the Southeastern Newspaper Publishers Association.
So hey, if you have any visuals folks sitting around with nothing to do, send them to my show. I'll take all the friendly audience members I can get!
And tell Wooten I said hello. He and I worked together back in Raleigh, about a million years ago.
