Hi Alejandro. Sorry for the delay but I haven't logged on to VizEds for a couple of weeks - have been too busy.
I meant to post something on my blog on the Independent's new design last week but just haven't had time. But to answer your question, I like what they have done. I know Mark Porter from The Guardian said he thought they had taken the paper down market with the use of colour, but for me it's still nearer The Times than The Sun. I think the Life supplement is an improvement on what they had before and the new sport section on a Monday is also a good move.
All in all, I think it's more accessible, but whether it makes a difference in sales is doubtful.

Hi Alejandro. The Berliner is doing very well. Readers love the size and in a survey last winter said that they were reading it more frequently and spending more time with it.
As far as the hardest part goes, it was actually working through all the prototypes to decide how we wanted the new paper to look, knowing that European Berliners are more flashy but that wouldn't play well with our conservative Midwest audience. We came up with a crisper design that's easier to navigate and makes good use of color.

Hi. What I meant was donating money to a political candidate for him to use in order to get elected.
